Partners
TWIGS works with a number of partners and stakeholders to further common goals.
This video features some of our long standing stakeholders:
Several of these partners can be found on the same site and attend the main Open Days. Here is some more information about our partners:
sarah*raven
We are thrilled to have sarah*raven as one of our main sponsors. The Mail order business based in Marlborough have very kindly offered us financial support and are supplying us with most of the bulbs, tubers and seeds we need to grow on a fabulous range of plants and cut flowers. Their support is enabling us to offer an enhanced range of activities and subsequently provide more opportunities for people to improve their mental health through our gardening activities.
Social Farms & Gardens
We are a member of Social Farms and Gardens which is a UK wide charity supporting communities to farm, garden and grow together. You can find out more details from their website.
DASH
DASH is an independent local charity whose mission is to improve the quality of life of adults of working age with Aspergers and other high functioning Autistic Spectrum Conditions living in Swindon. DASH stands for Discovering Autistic Spectrum Happiness.
The Haven
The Haven has been developed by FAB (Flowers and Butterflies) as a one-acre wildflower nursery, located adjacent to the TWIGS site since 1997. FAB’s vision is: “To turn Swindon into the butterfly capital of Europe” by establishing wildflower habitats in urban areas. The Haven provides locally-sourced plants and seeds for free distribution to individuals and local groups and is open to the public when the TWIGS Gardens are open.
The Olive Tree Cafe
As well as producing quality food & drinks, our sister charity & business The Olive Tree Café also provides many volunteering opportunities for those seeking support with their mental health. Volunteers are also welcomed who may just have some spare time to give. The cafe in the Manor Garden Centre is open from 10 to 3 on Mondays to Saturdays and from 11 to 3 on Sundays. Breakfasts, snacks and light lunches are served in a warm, inviting atmosphere surrounded by contemporary art. Tempting menus can be found on their website.
Swindon and District Beekeepers Association
Swindon and District Beekeepers Association strives to promote and further the craft of beekeeping and to represent the interests of beekeepers in the local area. They keep beehives on the TWIGS site where the bees benefit from the pollen of the Gardens and the Haven while pollinating the plants in return. They are also on facebook.
